Case study: Cornell University
Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA is one of eight US universities that comprise the ‘Ivy League’ – a small group of private universities that enjoy a reputation for providing excellent education, and attract top students.
Cornell run a course entitled ‘Chemical Engineering Tools and Equipment’ as part of their chemical engineering undergraduate program. One of the problems that chemical engineering graduates face is a lack of on-the-job experience that is so integral to operations. This can cause friction when engineers interface with operators.
PSR were pleased to offer Cornell an academic license for PSR Interactive to supplement lectures and to help undergraduates become operations savvy. As well as our operations best practices training modules, a key component is our 3D models which familiarize students with plant and equipment in a risk-free environment.
Al Center, Senior Lecturer in Chemical Engineering said:
The PSR materials [...] proved to be a major success in improving the student’s knowledge uptake. I’ve seen a large number of visual learning systems over the years [...] and I have yet to see any visual learning system that transfers information as effectively as PSR Interactive.
I can recommend this material for your consideration without reservation.
